We replace your cartridge’s soldered save battery with a fresh, long-life 3V tabbed coin cell (commonly CR2025 or CR1616—matched to the board’s original spec). Ideal for Pokémon, Zelda, Mario Golf, and other GB/GBC titles that rely on a battery for save data or RTC (real-time clock for certain Pokémon games).

Common Issues We Fix

• “Save file is corrupted” or save won’t stick after power-off
• Game asks to start a new game every time
• Pokémon clock/RTC not keeping time (Gold/Silver/Crystal)
• Visible old battery leakage or weak voltage readings

Note on saves: Standard battery replacement will erase existing save data. If you’d like us to attempt a hot-swap or backup/restore (when feasible with our gear), add a note at checkout. Preservation is not guaranteed and may add to turnaround.

This service is only for original, authentic Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges. We do not provide battery replacement on counterfeit, bootleg, or reproduction copies. If a bootleg is sent in, it will be returned unserviced.

How It Works

2. Ship Your Cart Only: Please send cartridge only (no box/manuals). Use a small box or padded mailer; include your order #.
3. We Repair: We replace the battery, test, and get it ready to ship back.
4. Invoice & Payment via Square: We email a Square invoice—pay securely with any major card.
5. We Return Ship Free: We cover the return label with tracking.

Important Notes

• Compatibility: For original Game Boy & Game Boy Color cartridges that use a save/RTC battery.
• No Counterfeits: Counterfeit/bootleg cartridges will not be serviced.
• Board Condition: Corrosion, lifted pads, prior damage, or broken traces may require additional work/cost. We’ll contact you first.
• Save Data: Replacing the battery typically erases saves. Optional save-preservation attempts are best-effort and not guaranteed.
• Return Shipping: Included for U.S. customers. Transit times are not guaranteed.
• Packed Right: Please pack well; customer is responsible for inbound shipping & insurance.
